You are going to have to forgive the title in this one but it just jumped out and bit me; and on a Sunday night with nothing but the L Word on the TV I just couldn’t resist.
I have a slightly warped sense of humour anyway….most of the time I get to keep it in check, letting out what, on second thought is deemed to be acceptable. The majority of unacceptable thought just fly round me head bringing a wry smile to my inside face.
Let’s face it. We are all going to die. For most of us we just don’t know…and don’t want to know….when. Not even my wife….she who loves her jewellery would consider crematorium jewellery as a topic for discussion. As for Urns…. crematorium urns etc…well the only urn I care to think about reminds me of my childhood and had two fat hairy legs. Metal Urns therefore conjour thoughts  of Metal  Erics and retrieving Grapefruits from the fridge to the sound of stripper music whilst wearing one’s dressing gown.
Surreal you may think….has he completely lost it. Well  maybe a little. For those of you that recognise the inference to Morecambe & Wise, the funniest duo in British Comedy history Hoorah…For the rest of you that are too young…..your never too young to look them up on You Tube we will leave the passing surrealism where it is and hope that we all wake up in the morning.

My Girlfriend left with everything including the kitchen sinks!! Not an unusual story…but notice the plural…sinks. Has it come to pass that in this day of ever-increasing materialism that leaving with everything including the kitchen sink - singular- is no longer good enough. It won’t be long before the expression includes leaving with the triple bowl sinks marble encrusted round sinks .
Or maybe we will extend to parting with the sunken jacuzzi.
So the next time you feel that your relationship is getting a little rocky, be sure to look out for the tell tale signs and then go out and buy some Gorilla Glue.
No, not to help cement your relationship. To go one better and securely fasten the sinks into the tops…If she ’s leaving at least the sinks will be left to keep you company!!

Home Improvement….I’ll say it again…. Home Improvement. Its a word I say quietly to myself in the hope that my wife doesn’t hear me! I will gladly admit that I know nothing about the subject although I can recall watching the show, Home Improvement back when I didn’t have a wife I needed to speak quietly around. I was never any good at woodwork at school if that helps. Or metalwork or anything else that involved making or fixing stuff. I was awful at Airfix models as a kid. I always forgot the little guy that was supposed to go in the cockpit. I had an Army of pedestrian airmen by the time I was ten. When I got my first house, why oh why I bought a fixer upper I will never know. Thankfully, it was in the middle of a property boom and people would buy anything. After 12 months of my fixing up…well lets no go into that just in case the guy who bought the house ever comes across this article. Lets just say that the lighting was right the day it was shown. You can’t always depend on that light, so its a good job that I married a girl with a hankering for a tool belt. At least now I know that I dont have to try. I stick to the hammocks in the garden and she takes care of the fences and gates. If I as much as attempt to alter the thermostat on the heaters i am likely to end up in the basement with the termites.
But thats fine by me. I do the cooking and she does the Home Improvement. When it comes to relaxing pursuits I would much prefer preparing lunch in the outdoor kitchen leaving her to the job of maintaining the septic tanks. In my search on the web, I did come across a good site for Home Improvement resources. I say its good because the wife told me so. She often uses it for reference be it for outdoor work…she built the outdoor kitchen by the way…gates, fences…you know the sort of thing. It has tips on everything from leaking basements to fish tanks…no connection there.
