My mother-in-laws cat finally passed.  Not to be rude saying ..finally….but he was 28 years old!!  She decided on cremation and putting the ashes in a Cat Urns.  Mowing over Thomas in her back yard just didn’t appeal to her.

After my recent post about Eric and Urn….Morcambe and Wise to the uninitiated I thought I would continue the theme with a joke or two.
The thought of a crematorium Urn sitting on the mantle-piece bring back thoughts of Meet the Parents, the Ben Stiller film with Bob Deniro. Closer to home I only have to turn my head through 90 degree to catch the sight of Chico, our beloved pet propping up the door in a cat urns. It seems that death is all around us. My parents even keep Dudley their Labrador in a marble urns in their bedroom.
” he always used to sleep at the end of the bed”….Now he make a really good doorstop.
The thing is…it doesn’t really matter what we do with our cats and dogs or for that matter our relatives. And I am fairly sure that the spirit of who they were doesn’t really care either.
Our departed loved ones are kept alive in our thoughts and it is in those memories that they live on.
So when thinking of some-one who has passed…bring a smile to your face and remember a time that you laughed out loud together..

You are going to have to forgive the title in this one but it just jumped out and bit me; and on a Sunday night with nothing but the L Word on the TV I just couldn’t resist.
I have a slightly warped sense of humour anyway….most of the time I get to keep it in check, letting out what, on second thought is deemed to be acceptable. The majority of unacceptable thought just fly round me head bringing a wry smile to my inside face.
Let’s face it. We are all going to die. For most of us we just don’t know…and don’t want to know….when. As for Urns…. crematorium urns etc…well the only urn I care to think about reminds me of my childhood and had two fat hairy legs. Metal Urns therefore conjour thoughts  of Metal  Erics and retrieving Grapefruits from the fridge to the sound of stripper music whilst wearing one’s dressing gown.
Surreal you may think….has he completely lost it. Well  maybe a little. For those of you that recognise the inference to Morecambe & Wise, the funniest duo in British Comedy history Hoorah…For the rest of you that are too young…..your never too young to look them up on You Tube we will leave the passing surrealism where it is and hope that we all wake up in the morning.

Not an unusal comment to hear from a married man. Ex-President Marcos of the Philliphines didn’t have an exclusive on that expression!
So when it comes to footwear or more specifically, flip-flops for evening wear then it is she that I turn to for advice.
Never buy shoes for your wife!
Not so much an expression, more of a warning to newly married men. The divorce rate may be over 50% and I bet a good proportion of those guys went out and bought shoes for their wives as a present, oblivious to the faux pas they were committing.
